Cake Walk

We had a few Christmas parties to attend this year as most people do. One in particular was a very small carnival for the great-grand children. My Grandmother-in-law asked me to make a Grand Prize cake for the cake walk. It was nothing super fancy, but still way cute. The Christmas Tree was one of my candy molds, and I just happened to have a small star cutter for the top.

Gingerbread houses 2009

Normally I don't put pictures of people on my blog, but this just had to be shared. We decorated gingerbread houses at my place with my husbands family this year. We had a few mishaps that were pretty funny, Sorry Chan & Beth!

Beth

Red velvet is her favorite, so Chan asked me to make his wife's (my sis-in-law) birthday cake. I tried to do red & white decorations because that looks best with red velvet cake, yeah it turned out looking like a christmas cake. I realized after I put the dots on the big flowers that they looked like poinsettias. It still looked cute and everyone enjoyed it.

Happy Birthday Beth!!!!!!

Bridal Shower

My friend Teri asked me to help with another shower she was throwing. I was pretty excited to make this cake because I love anything Red, Black, & White. The cake was red velvet, with white chocolate silk filling and regular buttercream frosting. I topped it off with some awesome red fondant and white royal icing swirls. Thanks for asking for my help again Teri!!!!

Melissa

2 layers chocolate cake, one carrot. This cake turned out looking much better than I thought it would after a crazy day! The flowers were supposed to be fondant but the ones I made didn't stay on the cake. I made a mad dash to the craft store to pick up some ribbon to make ribbon roses. I was then running late. I didn't end up leaving my house to deliver it until about the time I should have been there. Then there was an accident (or 2) on the freeway making me even more late! I got to the reception a little after it started. Luckily there weren't many people there yet. I had a very understanding Bride & Groom waiting for me. Melissa said she loved the cake... what else could I ask for! Thank you both & have a happy eternity together!!!!

Red Velvet Cupcakes

I'm always up for a new recipe. I tried red velvet cupcakes in texas sized muffin pans. They turned out soooo delicious & moist. I love moist cake! They had a cream cheese frosting on top and it completely complimented the cake.

Cake Lantern

We carved pumpkins for Halloween. I figured I'd do one that was strictly business.

scrumptious pumpkins!

A while ago I made these pumpkin mini cakes and they are not very clear because they were scanned in from a hard copy picture. (Before we went digital.) They are two mini bundt cakes put together with a twix for a stem. I don't remeber what kind of cake I used, but who care we all know chocolate would've been the best ;)

A jack-o-lantern or not? This was a yellow cake with a chocolate silk filling (Thank you Heather), with some reeses pieces added in, covered in buttercream and then fondant. If you look closely you can see the smile actually says Happy Birthday Amy. Hope you had a great night Amy!

Peace, Love, & a V-dub

My favorite cake by far. The inside is a marble tye-dyed cake and was very moist. I made this for my neighbors daughter's birthday party. She is a big fan of peace signs and VW's. Happy Birthday Rylee!!!!! Thanks for letting me make such a fun cake for you!

Blakes Cookies

These cookies were especially for Blake (a cousin). He is going in for heart surgery to repair a hole in his heart this week and we wanted to do something cute for him. I made the cookies and wrote on them 'Our Hearts are with you' and then put everyone in his family's name on them. He got a kick out of the ones that had holes in them. Good Luck Blake, our prayers are with you!

Blue Swirls

I was trying out a new recipe for lemon cake and decided to have a little fun with some left over frosting, it turned out quite cute! The cake tasted delicious too!

Curious George

These pictures are from my daughters 4th birthday parties. She had one with her friends which we did the cupcakes for, and one for our family which is the balloon cake. She had so much fun!

Love you Savannah!!!!
