Raspberry dessert cup

My Aunt Dorina asked if I would make the dessert for a shower she was throwing for a cousin. The colors for the wedding were pink and black. We decided on dark chocolate balloon cups with raspberry sherbet , blackberries, and a mint leaf for decoration. They were absolutely delicious!

*If you make the cups do not use chocolate a'peels, they do not work!!!!!

Guittard extra dark chocolate chips work great!

Caroline

This is how I found my adorable mess of a 2-year-old the other day. Even though this was a few days before her birthday, we have hit the terrible-two's full force!

We had a Pooh-bear birthday cake, vanilla with vanilla buttercream, she was so excited she kept asking if she could see the pan before I made it.

The blue & purple dots are the cutest balloon candles I found at the grocery store.

She was a pretty happy birthday girl!

Earlier in the day I was sitting at the computer which is around the corner of the play room and I heard "Mommy, I'm stuck, mommy, I'm stuck!" And this is what we found. She is definitely my cute little mess!

Prima Ballerina

This was for a little girls who will someday be the prima ballerina!

The cake is strawberry with vanilla frosting.

The ballerina was a google image printed on cardstock...and I bought the tube of black frosting. It's so much easier to buy a tube when you are using so little of a color that you want dark.

Way to go Eliza!

ps. I did a wedding cake last week with a similar color scheme and it turned out to be one of my favorites. Silly me, I didn't take my camera get a picture of it.

So I am relying on others to send them to me. I'll post them as soon as I get them :)

Baby Blue

Who doesn't love baby blue & dots!
This cake was for someone's niece
who was finally able to adopt
a baby! Yay!

Winder Dairy Truck

Happy 80th Birthday Gramp!!!! He worked at Winder Dairy for many years before retiring so everyone thought it fitting that the truck he drove be part of his celebration. I'm glad they asked me to help. Gramp is an amazing man. I imagine that if my grandfathers had been alive when I was born they'd be something like him; sweet, hardworking, generous, and totally loving! Love you gramp! Can't wait to do your 100th ;)

The top part of the truck is carrot cake and the bottom half was chocolate.

Chocolate Dessert Cups

I was playing on the internet and discovered this fun way to make

elegant chocolate dessert cups and thought I would share.

You need:

small to medium sized balloons (not water balloons, they pop in the chocolate :)

favorite brand/flavor of chocolate for melting, I used Guittard extra dark chocolate here

Cookie sheet covered in wax paper/parchment paper

scissors

1) blow up balloons to the size of an orange

2)melt chocolate & remove from heat

3)Dip balloon in chocolate, roll on 3 sides for tulip effect

4)lift from chocolate and let drip then place on paper to cool

Place in refridgerator to harden for about 10 minutes.

Then set out for a few minutes after hardened.

Snip the top of the balloon, let it deflate then pull out of shell.

These are great for icecream, fruit, sorbet, mousse...
pretty much anything cold you can think of.
(Vanilla icecream and strawberry pictured here.)

Enjoy!

Cake doughnuts

She was so careful with putting on the right amount of sprinkles.

Very proud of herself, as she should be!

My 4-year-old wanted to make some donuts the other day. We found a recipe in the Family Circle magazine and they were really cute. Savannah decided she wanted both chocolate and vanilla donuts (chocolate were softer) and that she would decorate them with purple frosting and pink sprinkles. Not too bad for a 4-year-old I must say!
